◆ Video to MP3

Extract the Audio from a Video Online

Turn any MP4, MOV, WEBM or MKV into an audio file. Choose MP3 at 128, 192 or 320 kbps, or keep the original quality as M4A. When the video's audio is already AAC, the M4A is copied straight out with no re-encoding — done in seconds. No signup, nothing installed.

Two formats

MP3 or M4A — Which One and Why

Both give you clean audio from a video. The difference is compatibility versus quality, and how fast the job runs.

MP3, plays everywhere

The universal choice — every phone, car and app plays it. Pick 192 kbps for a good balance or 320 kbps when quality matters most. The audio is re-encoded, so choose a higher bitrate for music.

M4A, best quality

If the video's audio is already AAC — true for most MP4 and MOV files — the M4A is copied out untouched. There is no quality loss and it finishes in seconds, because nothing is re-encoded.

The fast path

How the No-Re-Encode Copy Works

  • Most videos already store their sound as AAC. When you choose M4A, the tool copies that audio stream straight into a new file instead of decoding and re-encoding it.
  • That means it is nearly instant, even for a long recording, and the audio is bit-for-bit identical to what was in the video.
  • If the source audio is not AAC, the tool falls back to a clean AAC encode automatically, so you still get a working M4A.

Good to know

Length, Size and Silent Videos

  • The tool shows the length and file size before you start, so you know what you are working with.
  • For music, 320 kbps MP3 or M4A keeps the detail; for a podcast or a voice recording, 128 or 192 kbps is plenty and makes a smaller file.
  • If the video has no audio at all, you get a clear message rather than an empty file — so you never download silence by mistake.

Your Video Is Deleted After the Audio Is Made

  • The audio is pulled out on Bubixo's own server with FFmpeg, so nothing needs to be installed and it works the same on any device.
  • The video you upload is used only to extract the audio, then the source is deleted as soon as processing finishes. The audio file is kept for a limited time and never shared.
  • No account, no sign-up — the tool is free.

Step by step

Get the Audio in Three Steps

1 · Choose the video

Drop in an MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV or AVI. The length and file size are shown right away.

2 · Pick the format

Choose MP3 at 128, 192 or 320 kbps, or M4A for the best quality with a no-re-encode copy when possible.

3 · Extract and download

The server pulls out the audio and shows the result. Download it, and you can open the Audio Cutter next to trim it or make a ringtone.

Frequently asked questions

Video to MP3 FAQ

Should I choose MP3 or M4A?

MP3 plays on absolutely everything, so it is the safe default. M4A gives the best quality and, when the video's audio is already AAC, it is copied out with no re-encoding and no quality loss.

What bitrate should I pick for MP3?

192 kbps is a good balance for most audio. Use 320 kbps for music where quality matters, or 128 kbps for speech and podcasts to keep the file small.

Why is M4A so much faster than MP3?

Most videos already store audio as AAC. For M4A the tool copies that stream directly instead of decoding and re-encoding it, so it finishes in seconds and is bit-for-bit identical to the original.

What happens if the video has no sound?

You get a clear message saying the video has no audio, instead of an empty file, so you never download silence by mistake.

Can I make a ringtone from the audio?

Yes. After extracting the audio, open the free Audio Cutter to trim it, add fades and export a ringtone for iPhone (M4R) or Android.

Is my video uploaded somewhere?

It is sent to Bubixo's own server to extract the audio, because the work is done with FFmpeg. The source is deleted as soon as processing finishes, nothing is shared, and no account is needed.

Bubixo video tools are free to use.
