Video Privacy Cleaner: Blur Faces, Plates and Personal Data

Upload a video and let Bubixo find faces, licence plates and personal details shown on screen or spoken out loud. You review every finding, and the cleaned video is rendered only after you approve it.

What it can hide

Personal Data Hides in More Than Just Faces

A single street recording can expose a face, a licence plate, a delivery address on a label and a phone number read out loud. Each of those is a separate switch you can turn on or off.

Faces

Faces are detected and followed through the clip, so a person stays hidden while they move rather than flickering in and out.

Licence Plates

Vehicle plates are detected as their own category and can be hidden independently of faces.

On-Screen Text

Phone numbers, national identity numbers, e-mail addresses, IBANs and postal addresses that appear in the picture.

Spoken Details

Personal information said out loud can be covered with a beep in the audio track.

Your Own Search

Add your own terms when something specific to your recording needs to disappear as well.

Three Hiding Styles

Blur, pixelate or a solid black box, applied consistently to everything you chose to hide.

The review step

Nothing Is Rendered Until You Say So

Automatic detection is never perfect, so the tool does not pretend otherwise. After the analysis you get a review screen: play the video, check the boxes, and fix what the detector got wrong.

Only when you press the button is the cleaned video produced.

Add what was missed Drag on the video to create a new hidden area yourself.
Remove what is wrong Delete a box that covers something which is not private.
Keep a person visible Click a face to leave that person unblurred through the whole clip.
Rescan with new settings Change what should be hidden and run the analysis again.

How it works

Five Steps from Raw Footage to a Publishable Video

Upload, choose, analyse, review, render. Nothing is published or shared by the tool itself.

1

Upload the Video

MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM, MKV or AVI, up to 1 GB and 15 minutes.

2

Choose What to Hide

Tick faces, plates, phone numbers, identity numbers, e-mail and IBAN, addresses and spoken details, then pick blur, pixelate or a black box.

3

Analyse

The video is examined frame by frame. Longer videos naturally take longer.

4

Review and Render

Correct the detections, approve them, and download the cleaned video once it has been produced.

Supported files

Video Formats and Limits

One video at a time, with the limits the service actually enforces.

MP4

MP4 and MOV

Phone recordings, camera exports and screen captures in the two most common formats, plus M4V.

MKV

MKV and AVI

Container formats often produced by cameras, dash cams and older recording software.

WEBM

WebM

The web-native format used by browser-based screen and camera recorders.

Maximum upload size is 1 GB and maximum length is 15 minutes. Uploaded files, analysis data and rendered output are deleted automatically after 24 hours, and you can delete them yourself at any point from the result screen.

Use cases

When Footage Cannot Be Published As It Was Filmed

Most of these recordings were never made for an audience, which is exactly why they need cleaning before they get one.

Street and Event Footage

Bystanders end up in almost every outdoor recording. Hide them and keep your subject.

Dash Cam Recordings

Share an incident without publishing the plates of every vehicle around you.

Screen Recordings

Remove customer names, e-mail addresses and account numbers from a demo of your own software.

Workplace Videos

Publish an office or factory tour without exposing every employee who walks past the camera.

Schools and Courses

Share classroom or training footage with the participants hidden.

Journalism and Research

Protect a source or a bystander before material is handed over or broadcast.

Evidence and Reports

Share a recording with third parties while keeping unrelated people out of it.

Consent Withdrawn

Hide one specific person in already recorded footage while leaving everyone else visible.

Privacy and responsible use

Built for Protecting People, Not Hiding Wrongdoing

The whole point of the tool is to reduce the personal data in a video before it is shared. That only works if the footage was yours to process in the first place.

  • Upload only video you filmed or are authorised to process.
  • Processing happens on the Bubixo server. Video frames are not sent to external AI services.
  • Uploads, analysis data and output are deleted automatically after 24 hours, and can be deleted manually straight away.
  • Hiding a face does not always make a person unidentifiable — clothing, voice, location and context can still identify them.
  • Blurring does not release you from your own data protection obligations towards the people in the recording.
  • Do not use the tool to remove attribution, watermarks or evidence of authorship from someone else's material.

⚠ Important

Automatic Detection Is Not a Guarantee

Detection can miss a face turned away from the camera, a plate at a sharp angle, text that is small or out of focus, or a detail spoken unclearly. It can also cover something that was never private. That is why the review screen exists, and why the cleaned video is only rendered after you have gone through it.

Watch the finished video from beginning to end before you publish or send it. Do not treat the result as an anonymisation guarantee or as legal compliance in itself: the responsibility for what leaves your hands stays with you.

Frequently asked questions

Video Privacy Cleaner FAQ

What can the tool hide in a video?

Faces, vehicle licence plates, and on-screen phone numbers, national identity numbers, e-mail addresses, IBANs and postal addresses. Personal details spoken in the audio can be covered with a beep.

Which video formats can I upload?

MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM, MKV and AVI, up to 1 GB and 15 minutes per video.

Can I correct the detections?

Yes, and you are expected to. Drag on the video to add an area the detector missed, delete boxes that are wrong, and click a face to leave that person visible.

Can I leave one person unblurred?

Yes. Mark that person in the review screen and they stay visible through the clip while everyone else is hidden.

Which hiding style should I choose?

Blur looks the most natural, pixelation makes it obvious that something was hidden, and a black box removes the area entirely. All three are applied to the exported video.

Are my videos sent to an external AI service?

No. The analysis and rendering run on the Bubixo server; video frames are not sent to outside AI services.

How long are my files kept?

They are deleted automatically after 24 hours, and you can delete the video and its data yourself from the result screen at any time.

Is the result guaranteed to be anonymous?

No. Automatic detection can miss things, and people can be recognised by context even when a face is hidden. Always review the finished video yourself.
