◆ Video Aspect Crop

Crop a Video to Any Aspect Ratio Online

Reframe any video for Reels, Shorts, TikTok, Instagram or YouTube. Pick 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 or 16:9, then either drag a crop frame to keep the best part or fit the whole video with a blurred background. The result is a clean MP4 with the audio kept — and it works both ways, so a horizontal video becomes vertical and back again.

Two ways to fit

Crop or Fit — You Choose

Changing a video's aspect ratio always means a trade-off: cut the edges, or keep everything and pad the sides. This tool gives you both, with a live preview.

Crop with a frame

A crop frame locked to the ratio you picked. Drag it to choose which part of the picture stays — ideal when the subject is off to one side. The edges are trimmed, the frame stays full.

Fit, nothing cut

Keep the whole video and fill the empty sides with a blurred copy of the video or plain black bars. Nothing is cropped out, which suits clips where every corner matters.

No upscaling

We never blow a small video up to fake a bigger size. If the source is smaller than the target, the output matches the source instead of stretching it and going soft.

Pick the right size

Which Ratio for Which Platform

  • 9:16 — Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok and stories. Full-screen vertical, exported at 1080×1920.
  • 4:5 — Instagram and Facebook feed posts. It takes the most vertical space allowed in the feed, at 1080×1350.
  • 1:1 — square posts and profile grids, at 1080×1080.
  • 16:9 — YouTube, widescreen players and presentations, at 1920×1080.

Both directions

Horizontal to Vertical, and Back

  • Turn a wide 16:9 recording into a 9:16 clip for Shorts, or take a phone video shot vertically and make a clean 16:9 version for YouTube. It works either way.
  • The audio is always kept, so a music clip or a talking-head video stays in sync. If the video has no sound, the result is simply silent — no error.
  • Rotation from phone cameras is handled automatically, so a clip that looks upright in your gallery stays upright in the output.

Privacy

Your Video Is Deleted After It Is Converted

  • The video is re-framed on Bubixo's own server with FFmpeg, so nothing needs to be installed and it works the same on any device.
  • The video you upload is used only to re-frame it, then the source is deleted as soon as processing finishes. Converted videos are kept for a limited time and never shared.
  • No account, no sign-up — the tool is free.

Step by step

Crop a Video in Three Steps

1 · Choose the video

Drop in an MP4, MOV, WEBM, AVI or MKV. A still frame previews in the page so you can line up the crop.

2 · Pick a ratio and mode

Choose 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 or 16:9, then crop with the draggable frame or fit with a blurred background. The preview updates as you go.

3 · Convert and download

The server re-frames and re-encodes the video and shows the result. Download the MP4 and it is ready to post.

Frequently asked questions

Video Aspect Crop FAQ

What is the difference between crop and fit?

Crop fills the new frame and trims the edges — you drag a ratio-locked frame to choose what stays. Fit keeps the whole video and pads the empty sides with a blurred copy of the video or black bars, so nothing is cut off.

Which ratio should I use for Reels, Shorts or TikTok?

Use 9:16. It is full-screen vertical and is exported at 1080×1920, the standard for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok and stories.

Can I turn a horizontal video into a vertical one?

Yes, and the other way around. A wide 16:9 video can become 9:16, and a vertical phone clip can become 16:9 for YouTube. The tool works in both directions.

Is the audio kept?

Yes. The soundtrack is preserved and stays in sync. If the video has no audio, the result is simply silent, with no error.

Will it make my small video bigger?

No. There is no upscaling. If the source is smaller than the target resolution, the output matches the source instead of being stretched, so it never goes soft.

Is my video uploaded somewhere?

It is sent to Bubixo's own server to re-frame it, because the work is done with FFmpeg. The source is deleted as soon as processing finishes, nothing is shared, and no account is needed.
