The model finds the faces and reconstructs eyes, mouth, eyebrows and skin. Old scans, group shots taken from too far away and slightly out-of-focus portraits gain the most.

The background is left alone

Face Repair or Enlarging?

Bubixo has one tool with two jobs, and picking the right one takes a second. The question is simply whether your photo is too small.

The photo is already a decent size but the faces are soft. That is this page. Nothing is resized; the faces are repaired and the resolution stays put.

The photo is small and you need it bigger. Use the AI image upscaler, which rebuilds detail across the whole picture and enlarges it two or four times.

Where Your Photo Actually Goes

This tool works differently from most tools on Bubixo, and it is worth being plain about it. Face reconstruction needs a graphics card our server does not have, so your photo is sent to an AI service that runs the restoration model and returns the result. Other Bubixo tools work in your browser or on our own machine; this one does not.

Your photo is not stored. The AI provider deletes the inputs, outputs and logs of an API request within an hour by default, and the copy on the Bubixo side is deleted after 24 hours.

Your browser never talks to the provider directly. The request goes through Bubixo, so no key, account or tracking from the provider reaches you.

No account, no email address and no payment details are asked for at any point.

Photographs of people are personal. Please only upload pictures you have the right to use, and nothing you would not want processed outside Bubixo.

A Rebuilt Face Is a Prediction

The model does not recover detail that was captured and then lost; it predicts the most likely face given what is still visible. On a soft portrait that prediction is usually very close. On a face that was only ever a handful of pixels it is a guess that happens to look convincing.

So enjoy it for family photos, and never treat a rebuilt face as evidence of what someone looked like. Heavy motion blur, very dark faces and profiles turned far from the camera are the hardest cases.
